Lincoln County Fire Rescue is getting some additional equipment to help keep our community safe. Lincoln County Fire Chief Doug Campbell told commissioners last night they have a unique opportunity to buy a ladder truck for their department The truck, although in need of some refurbishing, would cost the county far less than what a new ruck would cost. After some discussion, commissioners voted 20 to 3 with 1 abstention to make the purchase. They also voted to purchase an additional fire truck in addition to the ladder truck. Lincoln County Fire Rescue also received a donation of several radios from the Tullahoma Fire department. Tullahoma recently upgraded to a different frequency and type of radio and could no longer use their old radios. Tullahoma Fire Chief Kenneth Pearson said in part in a prepared statement, “ we’re grateful for the opportunity to support our neighboring agencies and strengthen the collaboration that keeps our communities safe.”
