Mark Bolden told me the moratorium will only last 4 to 6 weeks.
I have been reporting to you about a moratorium on new water taps implemented last week by the Lincoln County Board of Public Utilities. This afternoon I talked with the Chairman of that Board, Mark Bolden who told me ( Click Audio Link For Southbite ) Bolden told me the moratorium will only last 4 to 6 weeks while they collect this much needed data and he hopes they can finish their data collection sooner so they can lift that moratorium. I initially reported that this moratorium could hurt economic development. That was based on incomplete information when in fact the data collected during this moratorium should actually help with the growth of southern Lincoln County by showing the current capacity of the water system.
